Arrived in Tokyo (actually at Shinagawa), switched from the Shinkansen to the Yamanote (Loop) Line and spent about half an hour rolling down to Ikebukuro. Checked into the Sakura Hotel. Dumped our stuff and after a short break (and checking email) we went looking for the physical presence of gpsstore.jp which also sells geocaching supplies. We found it (after a long walk through the rain) and bought some new geocoins (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geocoin). On the way back, we stopped at CoCo Curry House for some chicken cutlet curry. End of Day 1.
